Abstract
The chapter deals with issues related to digital insurance offered on demand and in the usege-based formula. The purpose of this chapter is to describe the essence of these types of insurance, their characteristics and the state of development. The chapter consists of three basic parts. The first part focuses on the description of the essence of on-demand insurance.
Based on the analyzes and available source materials, the most interesting types of insurance and the entities offering them have been presented. The second part focuses on usage-based insurance. These types of insurance have been characterized on the example of the motor insurance market. The chapter ends with conclusions, where further dynamic development of this type of insurance is expected, despite the possible threat from the point of view of an increase in the level of negative risk selection in on-demand insurance and the related increase in the loss ratio.
